Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How does the DRIVER ALERTTM system work?

A:   All of our products utilize "ultrasonic echolocation sonar," the  same type of sonar that is used by the U.S. Military.  In each application the sonar is calibrated for the most likely and effective purpose for which it was designed to perform.  No other system can actually "see" 3-dimentional objects other than echolocation sonar in it's various forms, one of which has been installed in all of our Vehicle Reversing Aid Systems (Please click on the "Products" tab at the top of this page for additional information).

Q:   Does the DRIVER ALERTTM system constantly "beep" while I'm backing up my vehicle?

A:   NO, the only time that the vehicle operator will hear our audio and voice tones is when a person or an object appears within the range of one or all of the detectors .  If nothing is behind your vehicle as you place it into reverse gear, you will only hear one short "beep" which is just letting you know that the system is now activated and is functioning properly.

Q:   Are the DRIVER ALERTTM systems complicated to install?

A:   NO, the installation process is very simple.  You can install the system you purchase yourself or we can do it for you.  All of the systems we offer can be installed, in most cases, in about 60 to 90 minutes, and no special tools are required.  We provide a "Free" installation video on CD and written installation instructions with every order. There is also additional installation information on this web site.  (Please click on the "Installation" tab at the top of this page for additional installation information.)

Q:   I don't need this system, I drive a small compact car!

A:  The general misconception is that only people who drive SUV's, Pickup Trucks or Commercial Type Vehicles need backup warning devices on their vehicles.  Even the smallest of compact cars have "Blind Spots" (Please click on the "Specifications" tab at the top of this page for additional informationand to view "Blind Spot Charts").

Q:  How do I know which model I need?

A:  The DRIVER ALERTTM Micro 3, Mini 3 and Micro 5 systems can be installed on all SUV's (Large or Small), Pickup Truck's (Including Dually's), Smaller Commercial Use Vehicles, Van's (Regular or Mini) and Passenger Cars. (The Micro 5 model is to be installed on vehicles that are equipped with the Plastic/Polyurethane Type Rear Bumpers ONLY.)  The DRIVER ALERTTM Micro 4 system was designed for Commercial Use Vehicles that are seven (7') feet in width or wider such as vehicles used by Plumbers, Contractors, Municipalities, Delivery Companies, etc.  The DRIVER ALERTTM Mini 3 model was primarily designed for use on vehicles owned by persons that may have a hearing impediment.  The Mini 3 utilizes the same technology as the Micro 3 and Micro 4 models except that instead of the audio and voice tones, it offers an audio tone with an Digital Read-out Display that actually "Shows" the driver in "feet and inches" how far a person or an object is from the rear of their vehicle (Please click on the "Products" tab above and then Click on the desired logo for additional information).

Q:  How do I know how close I'm getting to a person or an object?

A:  Our DRIVER ALERTTM Vehicle Backup Warning Systems are very unique and revolutionary systems, unlike "All" of the other backup warning systems that are in the marketplace today.  The other systems only offer "beeping tones" and/or "LED lights" that you must also pay attention too while you are trying to backup your vehicle.  It is hard enough to concentrate while backing up and using your rear view mirror and your outside mirrors, let alone having to also look at "small lights" and trying to remember what a slow or a fast or a constant "beeping tone" means in regards to distance.  Our DRIVER ALERTTM systems take away that pressure by actually "Talking" to the vehicle driver and "Telling" them, in a very pleasant voice, how far in "feet and inches" a person or an object is from the rear of their vehicle.  The human brain is designed to process, with NO problem, both of these senses, our sight and our hearing simultaneously, without causing the vehicle operator any additional stress (Click on either the "Products" or the "Specifications" tab at the top of this page for additional information).

Q:  This revolutionary technology sounds very expensive, is it?

A:  NO, our DRIVER ALERTTM systems are not expensive at all.  All of our products are very competitively priced.  In fact we are, in most cases, less expensive than any of the other types of vehicle backup warning systems that are in the marketplace today and we offer a Superior Product and Top Quality Customer Service for your investment.  We have pricing for the general public on an individual basis (additional discounts are available for multiple purchases) and we offer tiered pricing levels for Organization's, Company's and/or Municipalities with small to large vehicle fleets.  We also offer a "Retailers Program."  It is available to all Automobile/Truck Dealers, Insurance Agents/Companies, Vehicle Accessory/Parts Retailers, Vehicle Service/Repair Shops, Vehicle Stereo/Alarm Retailers, etc.  (Please Click on the "Job Opportunities" or the "Contact Us" tab at the top of this page to receive additional information about pricing and installation options).
