The DRIVER ALERT™ Micro 3™ Vehicle Reversing Aid and Backup Warning System is a collision warning and obstacle detection system capable of warning a vehicle operator that there is an object or a person in a defined area behind their vehicle when they are backing up.  The system uses ultrasonic echolocation sonar technology to alert drivers of impending collisions when their vehicle is engaged in reverse.

The system is comprised of three miniature acoustic transmit/receive detectors, a speaker and a main unit or "brain" which houses an 8-bit microprocessor together with our patented Voice Distance Indicator or VDI module.  Our detectors are sealed within a specialized rubber compound capable of protecting the detectors from the elements and temperature extremes.  The detectors are adapted for mounting either on the face of or underneath the rear bumper of most types of vehicles.  The voice/alarm speaker is easily mounted, in any location, within the driver's compartment.  The DRIVER ALERT™ Micro 3™ must be installed on vehicles with a width of 7-feet or less.

The power source of the system is the vehicle's backup light electrical circuit.  The detectors transmit a 33.5 kHz motion sensing frequency within a defined area behind the vehicle with a range accuracy setting of +/-  2 - inches.  Six audio and six voice definitions are preset at the time of manufacture.

When the vehicle operator places the vehicle in reverse, one short "beep" will sound indicating that the system is activated and in working order.  The distinct audio and voice alarm triggers when either a person or an obstacle enters into the detection zones.  Unlike other obstacle detection systems in the marketplace today, the DRIVER ALERT™ Micro 3™ Vehicle Reversing Aid and Backup Warning System performs in all weather and light conditions, Day and Night.  DRIVER ALERT™ Micro 3™ eliminates visual distraction and driver complacency.  DRIVER ALERT™ Micro 3™ is maintenance free, it installs in most cases in about 90 minutes and the system more than pays for itself by avoiding just "ONE" accident.  DRIVER ALERT™ Micro 3™ is the ONLY vehicle backup warning system, in the world, that actually "Talks" to the vehicle operator and "Tells" the driver, in feet and inches, how far a person or an object is from the rear of their vehicle.
