The
DRIVER ALERT™
Mini3™
Vehicle Reversing Aid and Backup Warning System is a discriminating,
collision warning and obstacle detection system capable of
warning a driver that there is an object or a person in a
defined area behind their reversing vehicle. The system
uses ultrasonic echolocation sonar
technology to alert drivers of impending collisions when a
vehicle is engaged in reverse.
The
DRIVER ALERT™
Mini3™
system is comprised of two (2) or three (3) miniature acoustic
transmit/receive detectors, a power unit, and a digital display
unit and an 8-bit microprocessor or "brain."
Our detectors are sealed within a specialized rubber compound
capable of protecting the detectors from the elements and
temperature extremes. The detectors are adapted for
mounting either on the face of or underneath the rear bumper
of most types of vehicles. The digital display easily
mounts in any location in the driver's compartment, usually
under the rear view mirror for easy viewing by the driver.
The
power source for the system is the backup light electrical
circuit of the vehicle. The detectors transmit a 40.8
kHz motion sensing frequency within a defined field behind
the vehicle with range setting accuracy of +/-
2
- inches.
The
audio and distance readouts from 15 feet to 8 inches are preset
at the time of manufacture.
When
the operator places the vehicle in reverse one short "beep"
will sound indicating that the unit is in working order.
The distinct audio and digital display
trigger when either a person or an object enters into
andy of the detection zones. Unlike
other obstacle detection systems, the DRIVER
ALERT™
Mini3™ Vehicle
Reversing Aid and Backup Warning System performs in all weather
conditions, Day and Night.

is maintenance free, installs in most cases in about 90 minutes,

accident.
The
DRIVER ALERT™
Mini3™ system was
designed as a driver aid to help compensate for driver error
and is not intended to replace established
safety procedures used when operating a motor vehicle. However,
it does give drivers the ability to detect people and
objects that might otherwise go unseen and the opportunity
to stop theie vehicle before running into that person or an
