The
charts below are to help drivers understand just how Large
the blind area is behind their vehicle.
(The vehicles listed represent some of the more popular
makes and models. If your vehicle is not listed, locate one
of the listed vehicle models that is similar to your vehicle in
length and height. This will give you an idea of how large
the blind area is behind your particular vehicle. These measurements
were arrived at by placing an object 28-inches in height behind
each listed vehicle at a point where the driver could just see the
top of the object when looking through the rear window. Each
vehicle listed was tested with an "average-height" driver,
5' 8" tall and a "shorter" driver, 5' 1" tall.
There are many factors involved in calculating your individual vehicle's
blind spot area. Each vehicles height and length and each
drivers height are all some of the factors contributing to the actual
blind spot area behind your vehicle. These charts are for
